Hydrocarbon Processing, America’s leading downstream Oil & Gas publication, is currently featuring an article by Permasense CEO, Dr Peter Collins: "Consider a new monitoring system to prevent corrosion."
Every year in March the magazine runs a special report looking at recent innovations, technology and products that are making a positive impact on managing and mitigating corrosion. Permasense was invited to contribute to the latest report.
The article explains how the Permasense solution works and the benefits it offers users. The experience of the Gelsenkirchen refinery in Germany with the system is then described. At Gelsenkirchen, the Permasense system has delivered reliable measurement data for the past three years.

Building on the proven measurement visualisation of the Data Manager software, Permasense has now released its updated Data Manager 4.4 which includes new features as recommended by the Permasense user community. This latest version of the software, which is available as a free upgrade for existing customers, offers more analysis features including: rates over various periods of time, remaining wall thickness to retirement and seven day average measurement.

Permasense featured in Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine’s article on safety and security
In the March issue of Hydrocarbon Engineering the safety and security issues currently affecting the modern oil and gas industry are examined. The article reports on how ensuring the safety of all refinery and petrochemical facilities is a high priority. As the industry constantly looks for ways to improve safety, the article highlights how monitoring of critical equipment has also been implemented featuring a case study of BP’s Cherry Point refinery where Permasense’s wireless continuous corrosion monitoring sensors were installed in 2008.
