Permasense appoints Tom Fuggle as its new Business Development Director Thursday, 8th March 2012

sense solution, we are delighted to announce that Tom Fuggle has joined Permasense as Business Development Director.
Tom brings a wealth of high level international experience, extensive engineering knowledge, and a track record of working with major Oil & Gas companies.
Strengthening Permasense Limited’s position as the market leader in the field of continuous corrosion monitoring, Tom will be proactive in growing existing relationships, developing long term agreements, and building new partnerships globally.
“I’m delighted to be joining such an innovative and exciting new company,” commented Tom. “I’ll be building upon Permasense’s achievements to date, further strengthening our commitment to excellence and delivering real value to the Oil & Gas sector.”
Since 2000, Tom has been Director of Business Development at global energy solutions provider Dresser-Rand where he managed the London sales office and had key account responsibilities for major Oil & Gas companies in EMEA. He also led many of Dresser-Rand’s large project developments to successful conclusions, notably BP Angola, BP Skarv, BP Clair and BP QUAD.
Prior to Dresser-Rand, Tom has held positions as Managing Director of Engineering and General Equipment, Group Products Director at Alfa Laval, and project management and project design positions with various consultants and contractors. Whilst at Alfa Laval he led university research in non-evasive real time condition monitoring, which has significant synergy with Permasense’s developments.

This latest version of the software, which is available as a free upgrade for existing customers, offers more analysis features including: rates over various periods of time, remaining wall thickness to retirement and seven day average measurement.

Permasense featured in Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine’s article on safety and security
In the March issue of Hydrocarbon Engineering the safety and security issues currently affecting the modern oil and gas industry are examined. The article reports on how ensuring the safety of all refinery and petrochemical facilities is a high priority. As the industry constantly looks for ways to improve safety, the article highlights how monitoring of critical equipment has also been implemented featuring a case study of BP’s Cherry Point refinery where Permasense’s wireless continuous corrosion monitoring sensors were installed in 2008.
